KnownCost currently accepts price evidence by email at bill@knowncost.com. Email is not a secure medical-document channel. Before sending anything, crop or black out your name, date of birth, member and account numbers, diagnosis details, and unrelated medical information.
Price evidence you choose to emailProvider, service, CPT code if shown, price, date, city, and source.
Personal detailsDo not send them. If an email arrives with personal details, we delete it on receipt. We do not forward or store it.
Medical documentsKnownCost does not ask for or keep medical records, diagnoses, member IDs, or health-plan documents.
Outcome reportsState, carrier, plan type, service category, dates, and status only. No personal details and no documents.
Public price indexOnly reviewed provider, service, price, date, and source information may enter a future public snapshot.
Deletion practice
Emails containing personal details are deleted on receipt. They are not stored or forwarded. Compliant price evidence is reviewed before it can enter the evidence pipeline or a public snapshot.
Your documents stay with you
The deductible-credit kit is for your own records and submission to your health plan. KnownCost does not collect the kit, submit it to a plan, or decide whether a payment qualifies.
